Thursday Rain or showers track southeastwards across much of Spain, Portugal and Southern France through Thursday morning and afternoon, followed by frequent heavy and blustery showers. Italy will see heavy rain through the north and central parts during the early part of the afternoon, with a few showers into Sicily and Calabria too. Showery rain associated with Storm Ciaran will affect northern parts of France and the low countries later, but central parts of France may avoid the rain completely. Thundery showers or longer spells of rain during the afternoon in Austria and Switzerland, with some showery rain at times through central and northern Germany with sunny spells in between. Heavy rain pushing northwards across Norway during the morning and afternoon, also affecting Sweden and Denmark with clusters of showers forming longer spells of rain. Finland and the Baltic Countries should stay largely dry all day.
Friday Fewer showers through Spain on Friday, with most of Southern Spain and Portugal looking dry and warm during the afternoon, with a few showers persisting in the north. Showery rain affecting western parts of France into the afternoon with some heavy rain expected through the southwest of the country in particular. Eastern and central parts should remain largely dry much of the day. A drier day through Northern Italy, Switzerland, as early rain clears eastwards from the Alps, and some scattered showers are possible at times. Heavy rain at first through the Balkans with some showers following on during the afternoon. A line of rain or showers affects Poland, Slovakia and Hungary into the afternoon. Heavy rain persists through Southern Norway and Sweden, with rain for western Poland too. A mostly dry day once more for Finland and the Baltic states.
